Lisa Kingsley

Strategic Advisor / EdLD Resident
Harvard Graduate School of Education

Lisa is a dynamic leader and strategist with a deep commitment to creating learner-centered systems that drive transformational change. She brings clarity and coherence to complex challenges, specializing in empowering teams and designing structures that enable sustainable progress. She is passionate about designing systems that don’t just innovate but evolve to meet the needs of every learner and educator. Next month, she will defend her capstone for her Doctor of Education Leadership at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, focusing on systems thinking and ensuring organizations internally reflect the external impact they aspire to make.

With over two decades of experience, Lisa has led in roles including school principal, district administrator, and senior leader at 2Revolutions. She has worked nationally with schools, districts, and states, fostering communities of practice and aligning vision, capacity, and strategy to achieve scalable impact. Her expertise in professional learning, structural design, and program implementation is informed by a special education lens, ensuring that all learners—regardless of ability, background, or circumstance—are supported and empowered.

Lisa’s career began in the classroom, where she served in contexts as varied as a para-educator in suburban Kansas, a fifth-grade teacher in the South Bronx, and an alternative high school director in Massachusetts' most diverse school district. These experiences shaped her commitment to creating equitable and supportive environments that meet the needs of every learner.

Lisa believes in empowering individuals at all levels to take bold, meaningful action that drives transformation, not just improvement. Her expertise bridges the gap between visionary ideals and practical implementation, helping teams align their mission and vision to actionable strategies for scalable impact. While Lisa values identifying small, immediate steps to build momentum, she approaches her work not as an incrementalist but as a strategist focusing on long-term, systemic solutions. She excels at elevating the voices of those closest to the work while ensuring systems are equipped to sustain and scale progress. Her leadership philosophy is rooted in equity and the belief that meaningful change happens when individuals and systems are aligned to thrive together.

Lisa holds certifications as a SCUBA Divemaster and is marathoner, although she admits she’s not a natural runner—she simply likes the challenge. When not working with educators or wrangling her three kids, Lisa enjoys traveling, reading YA fiction, or singing along (quietly) at a Broadway show.
