Dr. Jeff Bolster is Vice President for University Services at PLNU and is responsible for the Campus Master Plan, Campus Facilities, Instructional Technology Services, Public Safety, Food Services, Bookstore Operations, Construction and Renovation, and Auxiliary Services. He’s a member of the President’s Cabinet.

Jeff served in the Office of Student Life and Formation from 1993 – 2007, with various responsibilities around PLNU’s vibrant international efforts. He then transitioned to the role of Dean of Students until the summer of 2018. That role included both residential life and student conduct. Jeff’s research, publications, and presentations have focused on integrating student development theory into the lived student university experience. Jeff has also taught as an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego and National University and in the PLNU departments of Education, Business, and Graduate and Extended Studies at PLNU.

Jeff studied religion as an undergrad at PLNU and graduated in 1993. He completed his master’s degree in theology at PLNU in 2001, researching the role of the faith community during the Rwandan genocide. His Ph.D. was completed at the University of San Diego’s School of Leadership and Education Sciences, with his dissertation work looking into the impact of mentoring on the undergraduate experience.

His ongoing professional interests include mindfulness in the workplace, the development of healthy teams, crisis response, diversity and belonging, and adaptive leadership.
