Reed Howard
Reed Howard lives with a Buddhist monk, a Muslim imam, a Jewish rabbi, Jesuit priests, and 400 college freshmen. Every Tuesday, he bakes chocolate chip cookies and creates space to bring everyone together. These gatherings became sanctuaries for discussing everything from life's big questions to the latest in pop culture. As the first openly gay minister hired at the oldest Catholic university in the country, Reed is pragmatically optimistic about the capacity for positive change. “Change may come slowly, but it always comes through relationships.” His work transcending divides goes beyond campus life. He also helps Gen Z elected leaders bridge the partisan gap through shared values. On and off campus, Reed is committed to cultivating effective and ethical civic leaders.
