Rebecca is CEO and Founder of Magpie Literacy, a nonprofit building digital solutions to unlock the reader in every child. She also leads Reading Reimagined at AERDF, an inclusive R&D effort examining how reading instruction and social development interact to help students reach their potential as readers. Rebecca formed a strong belief in the reading potential of students of color and those who experience poverty after decades of working with stakeholders at the school, district, and state level. Previously, she was the Assistant Superintendent of Academics at the Louisiana Department of Education, where she created a nationally recognized academic support model that gave teachers, principals, and districts the tools to align assessments, curriculum, and teacher evaluation for impact.
