María Carla Chicuén
María Carla Chicuén is one of Miami´s foremost cultural and civic leaders. As the Executive Director of Cultural Affairs at Miami Dade College, the largest U.S. higher ed institution, she leads the College’s acclaimed cultural programs, including the Miami Book Fair, Miami Film Festival, the National Historic Landmark Freedom Tower, Museum of Art & Design, Koubek Center and Live Arts Miami. Previously, she was founding Executive Director of CasaCuba at Florida International University, and a consultant for the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank. She is a term member of the Council of Foreign Relations and a member of the Honorary Board of Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. She is the author of the book Achieve the College Dream: You Don't Need to Be Rich to Attend a Top School.
