Jennifer Ortiz
Jennifer attended Mills College in Oakland, California. After working in anti-proliferation and labor movements, she returned to academia. During her time as faculty and Chairperson, she led AB 705 efforts including implementing a corequisite model. Jennifer worked with USC and Bensimon and Associates, as a facilitator, panel expert and member of their curriculum design team. She’s an expert practitioner in race conscious teaching and led professional development webinars in several states. Currently, she serves as an Advisory Board Member for Strong Start to Finish. At West LA College, she is co-leading the Culturally Responsive Pedagogy Practices; a grant designed to close racial equity gaps for Black students.
