Mariel Beasley
Mariel Beasley is a principal researcher at the Center for Advanced Hindsight at Duke University and co-founder of the Common Cents Lab, a subcenter committed to improving the financial behavior of low- to moderate-income households in the United States. Working directly with credit unions, nonprofits, and local governments, Beasley incorporates findings from the behavioral sciences to help members, clients, and residents lead happier, healthier, and wealthier lives. Beasley and her team use quantitative methods to design and rigorously test ideas in the field, exploring what is needed, what works, and how to move forward. To date, innovations from the Common Cents Lab have measurably improved the financial lives of over half a million people in the United States.
