Dayna Peoples
Dayna Peoples is entering her 14th year in education in Detroit, where she currently serves as a K-8 Reading Specialist. A proud product of Detroit Public Schools, Dayna graduated from Cass Technical High School and earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics and a Master's in Reading, Language, and Literature from Wayne State University. She is a mother of one, passionate about education and community involvement. Dayna co-founded Detroit Kids Matter in 2020 to spotlight Detroit's youth and provide them with educational support and resources. She also serves on the board of the Minority Freedom Community Fund and recently joined Teach For America Detroit as an Aspiring Leaders Fellow to enhance her leadership skills.
