Yoelle Gulko
Yoelle Gulko is a documentary filmmaker and entrepreneur from New York City. She is the Director of the upcoming documentary "Our Subscription to Addiction," awarded grant funding and mentorship from Netflix's “The Social Dilemma,” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Archewell Foundation, and Melinda Gates’ Pivotal Ventures as part of the Responsible Technology Youth Power Fund. The documentary captures her raw experience of phone addiction and her discovery of a youth-led digital well-being movement.
In 3 years of operation, she’s assembled a 25-person production team with a combined decade of experience to film 10 studio interviews with leading youth digital wellbeing activists. She’s captured key milestones of the movement at the Capitol and White House, showcasing youth power in reclaiming their relationship with their phones. Sitting up front at the Big Tech Congressional hearing in January 2024 featured in The Washington Post, Yoelle had a stare-down with Mark Zuckerberg.
Yoelle has reached hundreds of students and teachers speaking at the Active Minds National Conference, UN Science Summit, and New York City Tech Week. With plans to screen the film in 10,000 schools across the country and even globally, she is committed to publicizing the youth-led digital wellbeing movement to inspire the rest of her generation.
