Teryn Thomas
Teryn is among the leading African American CEOs recognized nationally in education technology. She is the Founder & CEO of EdLight, an organization centered on tools to support authentic student work—honoring the intellectual and emotional energy of Black, Brown, and marginalized students. With experience as Chief Schools Officer at STRIVE Prep and Chief of Teaching & Learning at Freire Schools, Teryn has a strong background in educational leadership. She served as an Investment Team Manager at Philadelphia School Partnership and Principal at KIPP New Jersey. She is dedicated to creating transformative educational experiences for all students. She holds an M.S. in Education from UPenn with an emphasis on Urban Education and a B.S. in Business Administration from Drexel University.
