Charlotte West

Charlotte West is an education reporter covering prisons for Open Campus, a nonprofit newsroom focused on higher education. She writes and edits College Inside, a newsletter focused on the future of postsecondary education in prisons that is distributed to 1,200 incarcerated readers across the country. Her work has appeared in national publications such as The Hechinger Report, the Washington Post, Teen Vogue, USA Today and NBC. She is a member of the Education Writers Association and was a 2023 finalist for beat reporting.
