Kate Arend
Kate Arend is the Co-President of Film & Television at Paper Kite Productions. This full-service entertainment company produces content for traditional and non-linear platforms. The company, founded by Amy Poehler, has an overall deal with Universal Television.
Arend began her career at WME before moving to Paper Kite where she worked as a producer and executive producer on several notable productions including the Emmy-Award winning Netflix series Russian Doll. Arend worked as the executive producer of NBC’s competitive crafting series, Making It, hosted by Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman, before showcasing her talents as EP on Peacock’s Baking It and The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning.
Other producing credits include the Roku film First Time Female Director, starring Chelsea Peretti. Arend is also developing several other Paper Kite Productions projects, including the drama series Lucky Break for NBC.
In 2024, Arend and her Paper Kite counterpart, Kim Lessing, launched a podcast called Million Dollar Advice. The podcast, under Audacy Podcasts and the Paper Kite Podcasts banner, is a weekly show offering work and career advice.
