Emily Morris
Dr. Emily Markovich Morris is a Fellow at the Center for Universal Education at the Brookings Institution where she leads research on family, school, and community engagement. She coordinates a six-continent research collaborative that centers families and students in education systems transformation. She currently serves as an adjunct faculty at the School of Education at American University. For two decades, Morris worked with non-profit and community-based organizations, government agencies, as well as international education institutions in the US, sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia on promoting educational access, equity, and inclusion. She served as a senior leader and international advisor on youth development, community and family engagement, gender and inclusion, distance learning, and policy implementation.
