Emily Morris

Dr. Emily Markovich Morris is a Fellow at the Center for Universal Education at the Brookings Institution where she leads family engagement in education research and coordinates efforts to leverage family, school, community partnerships to transform education systems. She also teaches at the School of Education at American University. For two decades, Morris worked with non-profit and community-based organizations, government agencies, as well as international education institutions in the US, sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia on promoting educational access, equity, and inclusion. She has served as a senior leader and international advisor on community and family engagement, youth development, gender and inclusion, distance learning, and policy implementation.
