Latrenda Knighten

Latrenda Knighten, a retired Mathematics Curriculum Supervisor and President-Elect of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, has been an educator for over 30 years. She worked as a classroom teacher and a school- and district-based math coach. As a passionate advocate for high-quality mathematics instruction for all students, she is also an active member of many mathematics professional organizations. Latrenda is a past member of the Board of Directors for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics, and the Benjamin Banneker Association, Inc. She received her BA in Psychology and Early Childhood Education from Tulane University and her master’s degree in Educational Technology Leadership from Northwestern State University.
