Daisy Han is a visionary leader, educator, and advocate for racial justice, equity, and sustainability in the nonprofit sector. Born and raised in the SF Bay Area, she grew up immersed in civil rights activism, student protests, and cross-racial coalition-building for social justice.

As the Founder and CEO Emeritus of Embracing Equity, Daisy built one of the leading anti-racism training organizations in education. Under her leadership, Embracing Equity supported 10,000+ educators worldwide, impacting over 660,000 children. Now serving on its Board of Directors, she continues to shape its strategic direction while pursuing new projects and thought leadership.

Daisy is an author of The Other Elephant in the (Class)room: White Liberalism and the Persistence of Racism in Education and a recognized voice in national media, with op-eds featured in The New York Times, Montessori Life, and more. She co-hosted the acclaimed webinar series Real Talk, Real Action and is a sought-after speaker on equity and justice.

Named to the Color Powerlist’s 40 Under 40 Leaders, Daisy is a trailblazer reshaping industries and igniting systemic change. She has served as a founding board member of Montessori for Social Justice and The Mosaic Project, championing transformative education.

A proud UC Berkeley alum, Daisy earned degrees in Ethnic Studies and International Relations, later obtaining master’s degrees from St. Mary’s College and the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

At SXSW, Daisy brings her bold vision, deep expertise, and relentless commitment to advancing equity—because justice isn’t a trend, it’s a movement.
