Kaylin Hernández
Kaylin Hernández is a proud San Antonio, Texas native and first-generation college graduate from Duke University where she obtained a BA in public policy and minors in history and political science. Passionate about advancing education equity, she has dedicated her time to researching the Community Schools Model and how communities can facilitate stronger partnerships with neighborhood public schools, advocating for student representation in creating data science curriculum with the Data Science 4 Everyone nonprofit, and increasing youth civic engagement in government as part of her workload as a management analyst for the City of Martinsville, Virginia. As a former recipient of the KIPP Federal Policy Fellowship and Dave Goldberg Scholarship, awarded by Sheryl Sandberg, her life’s mission is to combat inequitable access to quality education through policies that foster equity and representation for all underserved and marginalized students in PreK-12 public schools.
