Mark Gerl

Mark has taught Coding, Engineering, Robotics, Game Design and Innovation classes to Pre-K through 12th students for over 15 years. He is a ardent advocate for Project Based Learning, Experiential Learning and Progressive Education. Having lead numerous professional development sessions, in person and online, he has learned that "If you want to teach people how to build a boat, you don't start by teaching them carpentry. You start by teaching them to love the ocean."

Mark is a finalist for 2023's PAEMST (Presidential Award of Excellence for Math & Science Teachers) for Georgia and has been part of the ISTE "AI Explorations in the Classroom" course since it's pilot in 2017, becoming a coach in 2021 and co-authoring the Next Level Skills course with Nancye Blair Black in 2024.
