Steve Taylor
Dr. Steven Taylor is the Policy Director and Senior Fellow, Economic Mobility at Stand Together Trust, where he leads investment and partnership strategies, builds issue-focused coalitions, and works to educate policymakers on reforms that empower individuals to develop and leverage their skills to pursue meaningful careers and contribute to society.
With a career spanning higher education, workforce development, and organizational strategy, Taylor founded ED2WORK®, a firm dedicated to working across sectors to address the needs of adult and working learners. Previously, at the American Council on Education, he spearheaded national initiatives on teaching and learning transformation, alternative credit and credentials, and quality assurance.
In July 2024, Taylor was appointed by Governor Glenn Youngkin to a four-year term on the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia, the Commonwealth’s policy and coordinating body for higher education.
A first-generation college graduate and Pell Grant recipient, Taylor is deeply committed to expanding educational opportunities for underserved learners and enhancing the value and relevance of education and credentials. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from East Texas A&M University and a doctorate in business from Wilmington University.
