Malik Crowder
Malik Aaron Crowder is the director of the Heman Sweatt Center for Collegiate Males UT-Austin. He arrived at UT in 2003 to help supervise Jester Residence Hall. He became the inaugural advisor for UT Black Studies when it became a department. He provided mentoring and leadership guidance to the Longhorn Football Team in their academic center. Malik worked with a team in the School of Undergraduate Studies as a senior advisor with Discovery Scholars Program. In his current role in the MEC, Malik has had the pleasure to advise New Black Student Weekend, help teach the MEC course and to travel with students on the cultural immersion trips. He has supported the DDCE Global trips to Beijing, China and Cape Town, South Africa. Malik earned his bachelors and Master's in human development at Abilene Christian University. He and his wife Sharon are involved in the greater Austin community and attend church at the Eastside Church of Christ.
