Sydnee Dickson
Dr. Sydnee Dickson has served as a proud educator for the past 42 years, becoming State Superintendent of Public Instruction in 2016. She previously served in various teaching, school counseling, school and district-level administrative roles with Utah public schools. Her expertise includes engaging community partners, providing educators with evidence-based professional learning, and fostering transformative school leadership. Under her tenure, Utah developed their Portrait of a Graduate, which outlines the state’s aspirations for student success and lays the foundations for a personalized, student-centered approach to learning. Sydnee has master’s degrees in school counseling and school administration and a PhD in education leadership and policy from the University of Utah.
