Frances Messano

Frances Messano is the CEO of NewSchools. In her time with NewSchools she’s played many roles, including serving as President, creating the Diverse Leaders investment strategy, and leading the Innovative Schools team. Frances was also a Vice President at Teach for America and developed the organization’s long-term national strategy. Prior to that, she was an Associate Partner at Monitor Institute where she used her expertise in strategy, organizational design, leadership and program development to help scale the impact of education-focused organizations. Frances holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an A.B. from Harvard College. As a first-generation college student, she credits nonprofit organizations like Prep for Prep for giving her access to educational opportunities.
