Christian Martinez

Christian Martinez, originally from Michoacán, Mexico, moved to Oakland, California in 1999. Growing up in East Oakland, he witnessed social and educational inequalities, inspiring him to become an educator. In 2011, Christian started as an educator and creative designer in East Oakland, aiming to empower his community through education and creativity. In 2017, he co-founded Latitude High & Noxhegalactica, organizations focused on community growth and amplifying marginalized voices. His work involves collaborations with universities and nonprofits, striving to create positive societal changes and believing in the power of community voices to build a more equitable society.
