Sarah Schwettmann

Sarah Schwettmann is a Research Scientist at MIT CSAIL with the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab. Her research reverse-engineers mechanisms underlying intelligence in artificial neural networks, to make AI systems more transparent, reliable and equitable, and to provide steerable controls for systems that shape human experience. She also teaches a class titled Vision in Art and Neuroscience in MIT Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences. She is an affiliate at the Berkman Klein Center, where she works on the Nymity project, developing tools that enable digital citizens to configure models of identity and reputation in communal discourse spaces.
