Kristina Cordero
I am a research associate at Educate Ventures Research (EVR) where I apply my skills to edtech research and evaluation projects, and to the Impact Programme, which helps startups develop a logic model, theory of change and a research mindset and map. I have also led and participated in many other research projects (academic and "real world") examining how people, young and old, teach, learn, read and write today. I have a doctorate in Computer Science from the Engineering School of Universidad Católica, in Chile (where I lived for many years), and a BA in Spanish and Latin American literature, from Harvard in the US. Moving between disciplines, languages and countries is a challenge and a source of endless fascination for me, and it's central to my work. I teach literature and translation —with and without technology, online and in-person, synchronously and asynchronously— at Brooklyn College, City University of New York, where I explore and implement lots of the learning tools and approaches that I explore as a researcher and consultant. I also have two daughters, who have helped me, over and over again, to see that a little creativity and experimentation can go a very long way in solving problems!
