Susan Diaz

Dr. Diaz is the Assistant Superintendent of Academics for AISD with over 29 years of experience as a teacher, specialist, coordinator, director, and executive director. One of Dr. Diaz's greatest role models is the late Rick DuFour. A guiding belief she has about education is based on his quote: "The fundamental purpose of schools is to ensure that all students learn and not merely that all students are taught. Student learning must be the lens through which educators look when examining all of their practices, policies, and procedures." Additionally, she believes teachers are among the most powerful influences on learning; it is teachers who make the greatest differences in the lives of our students.
