Raechel French

Dr. French is the Director of Planning for Austin ISD with a previous decade of experience consulting on K-12 planning efforts throughout the country. In her current role, she leads both small and large-scale planning efforts and manages the implementation of the district’s Educational Specifications which outline the ‘why’ and ‘how’ for designing schools in Austin. Raechel’s unique background combines psychology, design, education, and organizational behavior, positioning her to naturally bridge silos and work across multiple departments - a key component for successfully implementing any transformation. Her research work is focused on holistically supporting teachers and school leaders as they make the transition from traditional learning spaces to more innovative learning environments.
