Brandi Waters

Senior Director of AP African American Studies
College Board

Brandi Waters is the senior director of AP African American Studies, the first nationally available course that offers high school students the opportunity to earn college credit in this field at scale. She leads the development, launch, and ongoing management of the new course and works closely with higher and secondary education committees. This work builds on over a decade of experience working with national and international non-profits across a number of educational, cultural, and diversity initiatives. Her work stems from her passion for equity and opportunity in education. Her academic research has been supported by the Ford Foundation, the Social Science Research Council, the Fulbright-Hays program, the Institute for Citizens & Scholars, and the Library Company of Philadelphia.
