Martha Adams
Martha Adams is an Emmy-winning film producer, director, storyteller and social impact strategist best known for global campaigns in support of women’s rights. Named by Newsweek as one of “125 Women of Impact,” her film credits include She Creates Change, Girl Rising and We Will Rise: Michelle Obama’s Mission to Educate Girls Around the World, as well as contributing to a wide array of award-winning TV series and specials including Inside the Kill Box, Citizen Soldier, Robots Rising and Spies Above for Discovery Channel, NatGeo, Canal Plus, NHK, Channel 4, and BBC.
Adams most recently directed/produced She Creates Change – a non-fiction animation and live-action series funded by the Troper Wojcicki Foundation – produced in partnership with Room to Read and Nexus Studios. The series debuted at Tribeca 2023 and the TV debut will be International Women’s Day 2024. The trailer was viewed on Youtube 21 Million times in its first 30 days.
From 2020 to 2022, Martha served as President of Entertainment at Rebel Girls and remains a passionate advisor to the publishing company best known for the NYT’s best selling book series Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls, distributed in more than 110 countries, and winner of Apple’s Design Award for Impact and the Webby People’s Choice Award for Best Kids Podcast.
Prior to Rebel Girls, Adams served as Girl Rising’s Chief Creative Officer and during her tenure, Participant Media awarded Girl Rising a 98/100 for social impact, Fast Company honored Girl Rising in their “World Changing Ideas of 2019,” Forbes Magazine named the Girl Rising movement the #1 Most Dynamic Social Initiative.
Adams is a Senior Fellow at USC’s Marshall Brittingham Social Enterprise Lab which recognizes leadership at the intersection of business and social impact. She serves as a Film Expert for the U.S. Department of State diplomacy program, American Film Showcase.
