We Are Columbine is the first feature documentary by Lioness Productions and Laura's feature documentary directorial debut. “We Are Columbine stems from a defining moment in my life, April 20, 1999, when I was a freshman at Columbine High School. In the years since, I’ve struggled, sought healing, reached out, and hidden away. But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t stop wondering, “How are the other freshman alumni doing?” I made this documentary with four of my former classmates, our teacher, and the principal, all of whom were willing to go back to Columbine and share their personal experiences of healing and managing life after trauma. This film doesn’t investigate a crime, try to reconstruct history, or make a political statement. It’s our story told by us, not by outside observers or the media. It’s a film about our individual memories, our feelings, and our truths. Almost 20 years later, We Are Columbine is about WHAT we are saying as much as it is about the fact that WE ARE saying it.” – Laura Farber, Director
