Advikaa Anand

Advikaa Anand is a leader, writer, and staunch advocate for women's rights. After formative years in India, she grew up in Mississippi where she discovered a passion for writing in middle school, winning two national Scholastic awards. In high school, Advikaa wrote for the Mississippi Free Press and led middle school girls in standing against gender inequality. Now a rising sophomore at Duke University double majoring in Economics and Public Policy with a journalism certificate, she was selected for the Penny Pilgrim Women's Leadership Initiative. As managing editor of the Duke Chronicle's Opinion section, Advikaa has developed an interest in healthcare journalism. She uses her writing to amplify untold stories and advocate for Gen Z, especially on women's rights and healthcare issues.
