Lauren Siegel

Lauren Siegel is the co-founder and executive director of MathHappens Foundation. Since 2014 she has worked to provide math activities to the public in collaboration with museums, nature centers, libraries and cultural institutions of all kinds in Austin Texas and beyond. By designing, producing and distributing math models that help explain math concepts without paper pencil tasks or screens, MathHappens offers unique, positive learning experiences. The foundation operates four spaces open to the public in partnership with host institutions in New Mexico, Minnesota and Texas. The staff are college students, graduate students, math professors and educators interested in helping the public gain an interest in and appreciation for mathematics at all levels.
