Sarah Hunter

Sarah Knappmiller Hunter is the Executive Director of Strategic Initiatives for Minneapolis Public Schools. In this role she oversees both the Accountability and Research, Evaluation and Assessment departments as well as leading the successful implementation of the district's strategic plan. Sarah's previous roles include Executive Director of Research, Evaluation, Assessment, and Accountability, where she led a team providing data-driven support to improve student outcomes and Director of Accountability, where she oversaw school improvement efforts and the district's title services work. Sarah was also previously Assistant Principal at Lyndale Community School, Elementary Content Lead at the district level in MPS, as well as more than a decade of teaching middle school math in both Minnesota and Alaska. Her career reflects her commitment to educational excellence and equitable systems.
