Kristan Cilente Skendall

Kristan Cilente Skendall has served as an educator for more than two decades. Her work brought her to the University of Arizona, where she earned her master’s degree, Georgetown University, and the University of Maryland, where she earned her Ph.D. Kristan currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the Center for Expanding Leadership & Opportunity and as an Affiliate Assistant Professor in the college of education at UMD.

Kristan has also worked at the U.S. Department of Education. She often serves as a peer reviewer for several journals across the education sector. As a scholar, Kristan has published and edited several articles and book chapters related to identity development, alternative break participation, undergraduate research, and leadership.
