Ji Son

Dr. Ji Son is Professor of Psychology and Director of the Learning Lab at California State University at Los Angeles (ranked #1 for upward mobility in the United States). She is a co-author of several interactive Statistics and Data Science textbooks used by thousands of students at universities, colleges, and secondary schools. She is also the co-founder of CourseKata.org, a platform for building interactive textbooks that continuously improve based on data from student learning and insights from the cognitive sciences. In over 50 scholarly publications, her research examines methods of applying psychological insights at scale to issues like mathematics remediation and student success. The central idea behind Ji’s work is that learning changes the way we see the world.
