Melissa taught middle school social studies and language arts for 15 years. She developed student-centered curricula inclusive of individual stories and absent narratives,. She had been an advisor to her former school’s Gender-Sexuality Alliance, Student Council, and Environmental Action Club. She was also on the Equity and Inclusion Committee for her school. As an Education Director at AmazeWorks, she provides training, curriculum, and other resources to schools and communities to create more equity and belonging. Outside of her work, she enjoys being outdoors, creative arts, and volunteering her time as a Master Gardener.
