Lucretia Brown
Dr. Brown is an educational leader committed to social justice, organizational management, and continuous improvement with more than 15 years of experience in public school systems. She has served in both school-based and cabinet-level positions as a Director, Assistant Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, Chief Equity Officer, and recently appointed as Chief Academic Officer for the St. Louis public school system.
As an educational leader, she has advised School Board Directors, Superintendents, and led senior leadership teams responsible for ensuring access to high-quality learning environments in urban settings. Dr. Brown also served as a researcher with the Success for All Foundation where she led a large-scale quantitative study of the effect of educator professional learning on student outcomes evidenced on state standard assessments in 24 Pennsylvania Title- I school districts.
Dr. Brown’s many accomplishments of expanding access and opportunities urban school systems. A few of which include to increased enrollment in early childhood classroom, college and career opportunities, reduced the digital divide, increased student and family access to mental and behavioral health supports, and established national district partnerships with T-Mobile Project 10Million, the Institute for Student Achievement and the National Equity Lab. Dr. Brown was invited on two separate occasions to provide public testimony to the Pennsylvania Democratic House of Representatives on Grow Your Own Programs and the Digital Divide in Pennsylvania Rural and Urban School Systems.
Dr. Brown holds a BA in Legal Studies from the University of Pittsburgh, an MA in Urban Education from Alvernia University, and a doctoral degree from Alvernia University in Leadership with a concentration in Education.
