Conway began her work in government in 2012 when she inherited Louisiana’s fragmented early childhood system. By the time she left her role in 2018, Conway had created a first-of-its-kind unified early childhood system with common quality rating systems, certified teachers, and a parent friendly school finder to aid in enrollment. Currently, Conway serves as the Deputy Superintendent at the Division of Early Childhood Education at the Virginia Department of Education. In her current role, Conway helps prepare all Virginia children for Kindergarten by supporting birth to five programming, including the Virginia Preschool Initiative and Early Childhood Special Education.
