Dr. Choquette Hamilton is a social entrepreneur who is committed to social justice and racial equity. She is the Founder and CEO of The RISE Center for Liberation in Early Childhood Education, created to dismantle oppressive systems for children under the age of eight. As a champion for young children in our community, Dr. Hamilton represents Mayor Kirk Watson as his appointee on the City of Austin’s Early Childhood Council and leads the Strategic Planning Committee for United Way of Central Texas’ Success by Six Coalition. In addition, she is the Founder of the Liberation Studio, a coaching and consulting firm created to help leaders of color in mission driven work to thrive. Dr. Hamilton holds a B.A. in Sociology/African American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, a Masters of Elementary Education from St. Joseph's University, a Masters of Governmental Administration from the University of Pennsylvania and a PhD in Educational Policy and Planning from the University of Texas at Austin. In her spare time, Dr. Hamilton likes to hang out with her Husband, Greg and two sons, Gregory (age 13) and William (age 11) and their maltipoo, Mikey.
