Trish Powell Crain

Trisha Powell Crain is the senior education reporter for Alabama Education Lab at AL.com. She covers a range of topics from what happens at state board meetings to how kids learn to what the latest round of data says about student outcomes. Alongside her team at Ed Lab, she aims to create meaningful dialogue about how education impacts children and how to make sure every child reaches his or her potential. Crain has spent 20-plus years advocating for children’s educational needs on multiple levels. Her award-winning work has appeared in local, state, and national publications, online and in print. She graduated with a Master of Public Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in May of 2013.
