Lorena Llosa
Lorena Llosa is a Professor of Education at New York University’s Steinhardt School. As an applied linguist, she studies teaching, learning, and assessment of multilingual learners in K-16 education. Her work covers language proficiency assessments, academic writing evaluations, formative assessments, and language-content integration in instruction. Dr. Llosa has been involved in significant projects, including a science intervention study for English learners and NSF-funded science curricula development. Her research appears in esteemed journals, and she received the AERA Second Language Research SIG Mid-Career Award in 2019. Dr. Llosa also supports the IES-funded Center for the Success of English Learners and the NYU Predoctoral Interdisciplinary Program.
