Jessica Gomez
Dr. Jessica Gomez, a Bilingual Licensed Psychologist and Executive Director of Momentous Institute, brings over 15 years of experience in working with children and families. Passionate about creating healthy communities that provide children with access to quality education and mental health services, she is a dedicated advocate for their well-being.
As an esteemed thought leader in the field of mental health, Dr. Gomez actively contributes to the advancement of knowledge through her publications, presentations, and collaborations with experts and community leaders. Her expertise has led her to serve as a clinical and assessment supervisor on the APA Training Committee, overseeing the professional development of doctoral and post-doctoral psychology fellows.
Dr. Gomez earned her doctorate in clinical psychology and master's degree in counseling psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, Illinois. Her specialization lies in community mental health, staff development and training, family therapy, and the treatment of complex trauma.
Throughout her career, Dr. Gomez has shared her insights and expertise at notable events and conferences such as the Texas Psychological Association, National Latino Psychological Association, Texas Pediatric Association, Aspen Challenge, and has received media recognition from Telemundo, NBC, FOX, KERA, and Univision. Her work has been published in prestigious journals, including APA's The Family Psychologist, and she has been featured in renowned publications like Parent Magazine. In 2021, Dr. Gomez was awarded as a Dallas Business Journal 40 Under 40 honorees. Under her leadership, Momentous Institute was named the winner of the 2023 DCE Nonprofit Organization of the Year, as part of the annual Nonprofit and Corporate Citizenship Awards, in the Mega Category. She was chosen as one of D CEOs 2024 Dallas 500, an annual publication profiling the region’s most influential business, civic, and nonprofit leaders.
