Karyn Lynch serves as the Chief of Student Support Services at the School District of Philadelphia (SDP) where she is responsible for ensuring students and families have access to core non-academic services, including homeless education; student placement and enrollment; attendance and truancy; student rights and responsibilities; and climate and culture. Within two years of her leadership, the district went from having six “persistently dangerous” schools to zero. Prior to joining the SDP, Lynch served as the Chief of Student Services at Prince George’s County Public Schools. She was also the Deputy Director for Prince George’s Office of Personnel & Labor Relations. She was awarded the Governor’s Citation for Excellence in Leadership and the Woman of the Year Award in 2008.
