Sholanda Smith

Sholanda started her career in education in 2010, as an Exceptional Student Services educator. Having a passion for equity, disrupting systems, and advocating for others, she entered the profession of school counseling in 2019. She is currently a cohort school counselor, at Canyon View High School, in Waddell, AZ. Sholanda is a past AzSCA “Rising Star” recipient. In her spare time, when not spending time with her husband, Adrian, and her children, Adrian, Garrique, Alaina, and Justice, Sholanda engages in learning opportunities on how to be a better abolitionist school counselor, delivering presentations on diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice, writing poetry, and adding to her sneaker and blazer collection.
