Lisa Hopson

Dr. Lisa Hopson serves as Director of the Division of Global Leadership & Academic & Talent Development at Virginia State University, which includes the Office for Global Education, the Honors College, & Talent Development. She holds BA & MA degrees from VSU & a Doctorate in Educational Leadership & Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Hopson is a student-centered career educator with more than 20 years of professional experience in higher education. She works closely with the VSU student body ensuring students take advantage of engagement opportunities, emphasizing study abroad opportunities. Hopson’s passion for global education was ignited during a study abroad experience in northern Africa, subsequently leading faculty & students focused on the African diaspora.
