Heather Stewart serves as a Conductor and is Chair of Social-Emotional Learning on the faculty at Uniting Voices Chicago, a choral music education non-profit in Chicago, IL. Heather's choirs have performed at esteemed venues such as Chicago's historic Symphony Orchestra Hall, and the Pritzker Pavilion stage downtown, and have toured nationally. Heather loves to collaborate with musician culture bearers to reimagine choral music in a way that teaches history and promotes social justice. Throughout her career, Heather pursued many formative roles as an educator and musician in diverse schools and cities across the country. She gained extensive experience working as an autism therapist and teacher in special education classrooms. She has a distinct passion for exploring the science of learning to reach every learner. Heather serves on the Committee for Equity and Minority Achievement for school District 102, where she wrote the district’s now-implemented equity policy. Heather holds a Bachelor of Music in Education degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Masters of Music Education from Northwestern University.
