Rebecca Hite

At a young age, Rebecca's passion for science was undeniable. The only access she had to this new world of academia and exploration within her rural, small town was through her science teachers. Feeling inspired and empowered by the educators in her life, she then became one. Today, Dr. Rebecca L. Hite holds a Ph.D. in science education from North Carolina State University and is an associate professor of STEM education in the department of Curriculum & Instruction at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, USA. One of her central research areas explores the cognitive and non-cognitive affordances of extended reality (XR) technologies for science and engineering teaching and learning, with a focus on underrepresented, minoritized, marginalized, and underserved populations.
