National Board for Professional Teaching Standards

Jacquelyn works to ensure the educator experience through National Board certification is grounded in equitable practices. She achieved Board certification in 2019 and was an educator in the ELA classroom for 13 years. She also served as department chair, led professional development on DEI initiatives and innovation, and co-founded the Latin American Student Association and Bridging the Gap, a mentorship program for BIPOC middle school students. Jacquelyn has presented for organizations centered on equity, advocates for improving the teacher pipeline, and is a member of the Teach to Change Now Collaborative. She holds a B.A. in English Education from Northern Illinois University and an M.Ed in Education Leadership from Benedictine University. She lives in Chicago.
