Sofia De Jesus

Sofía De Jesús is the author of Applied Computational Thinking with Python (2nd edition due out 2024), and has over 20 years of experience in education, combining time in the classroom with curriculum design and providing professional development to other educators. Sofía has a BS in General Sciences and completed a Masters in teacher education and all coursework for an EdD (abd). Sofía is the Associate Program Manager and Spanish Outreach Lead for CMU CS Academy team, where she leads the translation of the free curriculum available globally. Her areas of interest and research include accessibility, fair and equitable assessment practices, and multi-lingual CS education. She has presented in multiple national and international conferences on her areas of interest and research, most recently at conferences including CSTA (2021, 2022, 2023), EDULEARN22, NSTA22, FETC23, CSforAll (2023), and CSEdCon (2022 and 2023). Sofía is a 2023-24 CSTA Equity Fellow.
