Michelle Millben

Michelle is the CEO of Code Rising, a STEM-intensive workforce preparation program that is empowering underserved students with an equitable STEM education.

She is also the founder of Explanation Kids, a startup conducting research to support teachers, students, and families tackling tough subjects and promoting civic education in a nonpartisan way.

Michelle is an attorney, public speaker, former White House advisor to President Obama, former attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, and former counsel to the House Judiciary Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives.

She has spent the last 16 years advancing civil rights, education, and technology policy and law in government and in the private sector.

In her spare time, she sings background vocals for luminaries such as Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Heart, Steven Tyler, Mavis Staples, Garth Brooks, Diana Ross, and more.
