Vanessa has taught STEM at Sutton Middle School for the last nine years. Previously she taught middle school math and science, as well as high school math. Vanessa has brought career exploration to Sutton Middle School. Students learn about their strengths, interests, and values as they explore various fields and begin thinking about their future. In her classroom students build workplace skills through hands-on science and engineering projects. The 8th grade engineering electives she has developed includes 3D Modeling and Printing, Sports Engineering (a collaborative course taught with the gym teacher) and Shark Tank (a design workshop where students create new products and receive feedback from industry professionals.) She has also spearheaded Career Day.
